Our community is currently facing an unprecedented youth mental health crisis. This year, 1 in 5 children and adolescents will experience a serious episodes of acute psychological distress. Suicide remains the leading cause of death among Australians aged 15–24.

Many adults simply don’t know how to support young people who are struggling. However many of those adults know the DRS ABCD (medical first aid) model and could support a child in a medical crisis. Equi Energy Youth is committed to building capacity within communities by coaching our TAR3 Psychological First Aid framework, which gives adults simple steps to follow in a mental health crisis. The aim is to reduce episodes of psychological distress, self-harm, and the risk of suicide for young people in our region.

With your support we will provide free coaching and resources to local families with the aim of reversing these alarming statistics.
