Campaign Overview
Local Legends is a giving circle uniting individuals and businesses across Newcastle and the Hunter to change that. Your membership funds free, evidence-based training and practical tools that empower families to respond to anxiety, depression, and suicidal distress with confidence easing pressure on hospitals and saving lives.
Join us to equip the people closest to our youth with the skills they need, right when they’re needed most.
As a member, your contribution directly supports the free delivery of Equi Energy Youth’s flagship parent and carer program, Coach 2 Cope: TAR3 Responder, and also funds the development of essential resources that support and extend learning for families beyond the training room, our FREE app TAR3Connect.
With public and private services overwhelmed, families, parents, grandparents, and carers can be empowered with knowledge on youth mental health. Our TAR3 framework serves as the equivalent of DR ABC for a physical emergency, offering a structured response to psychological distress, a crucial need that has lacked a clear model until now.
This initiative will have a direct impact on the local community by supporting in reducing instances of psychological distress, self-harm, and suicide in young people. By building capacity in the adults around them, we strengthen support systems that foster better mental health and wellbeing. This evidence-based approach ensures that families are equipped to respond when their children needs them most.
